SUNSET

Rejoice in the beauty of a sunset
As the night is drawing near.
The sky produces a glorious show
Before the night appears.
Majestic purples, reds and yellows,
Intertwined in a sky of blue.
God creates the canvas...
Nature provides the hues.
The sunsets are ever-changing
When the clouds come into view.
This captures striking pictures
Of colorful skies glowing through.
When skies are filled with orange,
And a tree becomes a sillouette,
This dramatic scene so inspiring
Is a sight you'll not forget.
The mesmerizing twilight
Hypnotizes all mankind,
And to gaze upon its beauty
Leaves us in awe--a sight devine.

CARDINALS IN MY PINE TREE

When I awoke one winter morning
Outside my window I could see
That snow had fallen through the night
While I slept peacefully.

As I looked through the frosted pane
Two cardinals came into view--
One was a vivid red male,
And a female in a paler hue.

They flew onto my pine tree
And shook off some excess snow.
The green of pine needles appeared
Creating a colorful show.

Winter is drab and dreary
With skies so dull and gray.
The brilliance of the cardinals
Surely cheered my day.

RHODODENDRONS

These bushes of great beauty
Adorned with lush green leaves...
Looking beautiful as the sun
Shines through the tall oak trees.

Planted in any garden
They create an added treasure,
And when the blooms are full,
Become a glorious pleasure.

Every spring they will elate you
As the bushes grow larger in size,
And the blooms will be exploding
With color to dazzle your eyes.

They become more lovely every year.
It's a pleasing springtime sight.
Whether found in a garden or the wild...
Rhododendrons bring much delight.

LIGHTHOUSES

Our beautiful beacons of light
And guardians of the sea—
Standing tall to show the way,
Guiding a course clear and free.

A beam of orbiting light
From a structure on sturdy ground,
Seen by tankers traveling the world
To steer them safely and sound.

Keeping ships safe through the night
During a rough and stormy sea…
Warning of dangers ahead,
Locating safe havens to flee.

These lighthouses of many colors,
In designs of great attraction,
Enticing many tourists,
All while beaming without hesitation.

A BEAUTIFUL WORLD

If you stop and think a while
Of the world that God created,
He planned it so perfectly
And how everything related.

He made the mountains majestic
With peaks that are covered with snow,
And waters pristine and flowing
As the pure breezes blow.

He covered the lands with trees and grass
And some with sand and dunes,
He made the stars that twinkle
Around the fullness of the moon.

The lands were uniquely placed
With animals of every kind,
And he filled the seas with fish
Of every species in mind.

People were different in looks and dress
And also the colors of their skin,
But He made us with hearts and minds
And good souls He placed within.

Now it is time for all of us
To take care of the lands God provided,
And to learn to live together in peace
And give thanks for one world—undivided.
